I suggest you consider the new German vertical or gravity metal detector. It is designed to monitor free-flowing bulk products, particularly for bone meal, mounted on pipelines with a gravity representation of the product to monitor for unwanted metal inclusions.
When bulk solids pass through the metal detector, hinged flaps quickly separate even the smallest metal inclusions from the product stream. All existing vertical-type metal detectors cannot reject 1.5mm stainless metal particles, even with X-ray machines, it is more likely to be between 2-3.5mm FE. Typically this will be 1 detector size, 3-3.5mm, as the detector is 350 x 350mm. Also, sensitivity can be affected by the environment. The size of metal that can be found by a metal detector depends on the moisture content of the product - bone meal. 
We have the right type of control panel, so you can install it up to 10 meters away from the metal detector for easy access. The reject box is controlled by air with a pressure of 6 bar. I find it best to mount it vertically rather than at an angle as in the picture. When you tilt the system, material can stick to the walls of the pipe holding the product and you will not be able to separate the contaminated product because of the velocity delay. All parts of the detector are made according to food quality standards and confirmed by certificates.

A part of the vertical shaft housing has a sheath to dissipate the electrostatic charge present during the transportation of the product.
